HOW TO CHOOSE A SESSION IN THE PLANETARIUM?
The Heavens of Copernicus Planetarium presents films for the youngest viewers, such as “One World, One Sky” (suitable even for 3-year-old children), as well as films for older viewers such as “We Are Astronomers” (8+) and “Origins of Life” (12+). Before a visit to the Planetarium, we recommend to read all descriptions of the films.
WHAT DOES A SESSION IN THE PLANETARIUM LOOK LIKE?
The session lasts about hour and usually consists of two parts: a live DISPLAY of the sky and a FILM.
HOW MANY SEATS ARE THERE?
The room is equipped with 139 comfortable seats, with tilted backs, and with one seat for persons who arrive in wheelchairs.
CAN I ENTER THE ROOM WITH A SMALL CHILD?
Please do not bring children younger than three to the Heavens of Copernicus. This is what the relations and our own experience say: little children are not too comfortable in the darkness and occasional loud sounds, and excessive amount of visual stimuli they can experience at the session. If you leave the room (e.g. to the toilet), unfortunately it is not possible to return to the session.
IS IT POSSIBLE TO SEE THE SESSION IN A DIFFERENT LANGUAGE VERSION?
Some of the films at the Heavens of Copernicus can also be viewed in the English audio version. Headphones used to enjoy this version can be borrowed at the ticket desk right before the session, upon leaving your ID document as a pledge (at the request of the client) or after paying a PLN 300 deposit.
CAN I RECORD, TAKE PHOTOS OR FILM PLANETARIUM SESSIONS?
Neither the displays nor the films can be recorded. It is not only because they are protected by copyrights but also because each light source interferes with them. Additionally, please switch off your mobile phone at the session. The room has to be completely dark.
